Night words - poetry rhythm and words

Wow, a mate rings me at midday yesterday. I get back to him around 2pm. Its a call from Hellfire promoter Craig Donowski. He's also the promoter of the Studio at the Opera House. He offered me a couple of free tickets to a "spoken word" event. It was great, even without me performing, though I was one of the 3 people dancing to the band at the end after the poetry stopped. This is not your boring complex dark emotional poetry you were tortured with at school which is mostly what I write. It's the best of Ozzie performance poets, rappers and word-based performance artists. They outraged some (like the blushing girl who invited her Mum to show off her boyfriend's freestyling) with jazzie pieces on Masturbation and pornographic excerpts from Linda Javan's (sp??) novels. They excited with monologues, duos, rhythm, rhyme, costumes and video accompanied by nothing but clicking fingers and/or the audience or recorded and live rhythm and music. This was just last night, a cabaret of spoken word. Each of the three days are completely different. I'm sorry I can't go tonight and tomorrow but if anyone out there has any interest run do not walk to the Opera house studio to have mind n emotion expanding experience not to mention a good laugh. Sorry if this sounds a bit like an ad but I'm excited and this event needs our support otherwise they won't do it again...
